I think online petitions are silly and no one cares about them.

Obama is making a big deal about the anti-gun one.

I signed up for an account and added my vote. I hope we can overcome the anti-gun petition if only for a moral victory....but I rather doubt most gun owners will sign up on a government site for the opportunity to vote.

No, it doesn't.....think about what you just said, a ban on semi-automatic rifles. Hopefully it sounds silly to you, because it has a snowball's chance in hel* of actually being possible to pass muster let alone being enforceable.

Signed, but I had a problem with the continual misspelling "assualt." One could have been chalked up to a mistake, but by repeating such a spelling error damages credibility.

Not really. When the WH petitions reach 25k signatures, the president will make an official statement on them. It's worth it to see the backpeddling reaction alone.

That's why I don't see the point in these. They ignore any of them that doesn't align with the Whitehouse's agenda but cherry pick the ones that do as some evidence that the people are with them.
