This does look funky, doesnt it?

Reminds me of the Vintorez or Val the russians build.
But this looks like it´s some ww2 SAS equipment!

any input?

just FYI - any knowledge greatly appreciated!

I knew that the De Lisle Carbine was built on the Enfield rifle but it was converted to shoot .45acp. I have never run across a .303 suppressed Enfield, but that does not mean that they were not made. If, IF it is original then it would be cool to have for the history alone. Though I suspect the it may have been done after the war for fun.

"...some W.W. 2 SAS equipment!..." Nope. SOE(Special Operations Executive Helped the assorted resistance groups).
The SAS during W.W. II weren't like they are now. Mostly attacked German airfields in the desert. Roared around behind the lines in Europe blowing things up.
All kinds of thing have been done to Lee-Enfields. Including making a No. 1 into a semi-auto. That didn't work well.
The scope on that one is not issue, nor was there ever a scope of a suppressed No. 4.

@ Gus.... this is indeed in .45ACP and not in .303
Just looking at the bor in pic 3 gives you an impression
of the caliber. ( surpressing .303 would be eh... hard)

I though of the DeLisle as well after posting here,
but what we have here i dunno.

@sunray of course the scope isn´t G.I,
but the gun could be.......

if thats a .45 then the magazine is screwed up.

I beleive the De-lisle uses a standard 1911 magazine
Heres some pics of originals

That one in the posted pics appears to have some sort of ejection block welded on and a scope mount attached. I know theres companies making repro delisle's but dunno what that thing is suppost to be?!?!?

My guess is probably just an internally suppresed .303? probably an aftermarket thing put together to resemble the delisle but in .303. Looks like it was done kinda shoddily judging from the nasty looking weld on the ejection cover.

If its in your local shop see if it really is suppresed or just some sort of welded on barrel cover?

...

it´s pix from an internet auction.
Seller is a professional.

it IS .45ACP - so someone must´ve played with the original mag
to have it feed .45rounds.

can you fit a .45 case in a .303 magazine?

can you provide a link to the auction?
