Glad I held off on putting an expensive charging handle on my recent 300 Blackout build. This seems like a must have, especially for my .308.

February 10, 2022 — West Valley City, UT — SilencerCo is excited to announce the release of their new Gas Defeating Charging Handle (GDCH) which significantly redirects the blowback of gas associated with shooting AR-15 platforms. Compared to similar products on the market, SilencerCo’s Charging Handle has a unique attribute: it actually works.

The GDCH has a proprietary design feature that incorporates an O-ring seal to prevent gas from escaping from the most prominent point of egress. This seal mitigates the amount of gas that is blown back into the shooter’s face, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable shooting experience.

why didn't we think of this before
We did. But a dab of RTV on a charge handle isn’t as cool as a Benjamin+, uber-tactical charge handle.

Vltors and Strike industries are gas busters and both less than fifty smacks, but without a neat gasket to wear out. Also without the clout of a giant axe head to dig into one’s chest.;)

Silly me, I like the smell of rifles!:)
And I also like the smell of success. I hope this one is quite odoriferous. I like choices!
Maybe the gasket would keep my Bushmaster from bopping me in the nose when I fire it with FTXs.

Options are good. I use griffin armament sn-ach t handle on a few rifles that I shoot mostly suppressed. It works well at directing the gas away from you vs trying to just block it all. Lol, Well assuming you're right handed. If your wrong handed it will direct it into your face.

the strike industries t-bone ostensibly does the same thing, and is configurable for left/right. I haven't seen a single review of it though, and it's been out for something like 6 months. I'm in the market for a new handle. I've always liked the raptor, but it has become stupid expensive. Where are the good ambi charging handles for 40-50 bucks?

I hadn't heard of this handle. I may be able to provide you with the first review of it if I can convince myself to spend the money!

I just use a simple cheap silencer.
I didn't see any point in spending a twice as much money just to get hit in the face by the charging handle and all that money wouldn't do anything to quiet down a noisy semiauto gas system.

so I was looking closer at the sico handle, and their claim to fame is the little rubber seal on the bottom of the handle. Could you put a tiny bit of rtv on the bottom of your handle and get the same result? guys are already using it on the top/back.

;)

I put mine all the way around because that’s how I make a gasket. By sealing the hole.

Clean the charge handle with acetone and lube the receiver with OneShot. Dab it on and feed it in. Let it set and pull it out. Custom gas plug.

It even works on those Raptor handles that are a hundred dollars without any fancy gas defeating devices.:D

I ended up getting the T-Bone charging handle after all (there was a sale). I will be posting a whole thread on it as soon as I can.
awesome, thanks. I went ahead with a raptor and some rtv sealant, but I really want to hear how the t-bone performs.
