Gentlemen:
I'm changing my New 625 4" 45 ACP grip to a Siles N frame grips. The N frame Siles fit me perfectly with my IDPA revolver (Model 624 with square butt) in the Siles configuration. The problem is that the Siles is a square butt grip and my 625 is a round butt. As an experiment, I tried and older S&W square butt grip on the round butt 625, and to my surprise, they fit except for the gap in the the lower part of the back strap. That gap does not seem to to be problem in my gripping other than minor cosmetic look. The Siles grip I'm buying is of similar design to the S&W N frame grip experiment. I can live with this gap for now. Is there any easy or clever way to fill that lower gap on the N-frame round butt grip??

I did this on an L Frame.

I carved out a little wedge from a piece of walnut. It took me about an hour to get the right fit, using simple tools. It's doesn't quite match the grips, but it fills the gap.

No they don't. Siles Distributors went out of business in the late 90's before they could start making round butt N-frame grips. CDNN Investments on the web have these grips at great prices; they are great values for the money, and the grips fit my hand perfectly. See below:

Bullshot,
Are those contours large enough to serve as a thumb ledge? Hard to judge by the pic, but looks as it would work that way.

I shaped a piece of wood until it fit right in. Then glued with Epoxy to one side. Have about 1000 through my 625 since and it hasn't fallen off.

Majic:

The ridges on the grips are on both sides. Those ridges can be used as thumb rest for both right and left hand shooter, but not large enough to interfer with either hand hold. But the beauty of the design is the quick draw application: those ridges plus the checkering forces an perfect high held draw form the holster every time, well, at least for me anyway.

Hogrider:

Thanks for the pictures. Your post was the only one I received with pictures.
