An elegant weapon for a more civilized age. (sounds like something Alec Guinness would say.)

Great line. Every time I hear that, I picture Luke holding a High-wall with a long octagon barrel.

Seriously though that is a nice looking Smith. Is that a model 27?

Is that a 5" Model 27? Always liked the look of that barrel length on the S&W N frame.

The rusty pitch fork makes me nervous. I hope you did not scratch anything.

"More civilized" is a tricky argument. Once upon a time the 101st airborne had to be deployed to Little Rock to protect black students in a public high school. I wouldn't call that more civilized.

Still, you've got good taste in firearms.

Not really more civilised. Just fewer people living further apart. Add a Marlin .357 mag takedown carbine to that and you have my traveling companions. Sometimes when I head west I change the carbine for a takedown Savage99 for longer range.

Old style doesn't mean out of date.

    Cheers,

    ts
