Simply Rugged (now with pics!)

I just got the email that my Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake, in Oxblood, with Celtic carving shipped today. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a piece of leather. C'mon, mailman!

Pictures forthcoming.

And here it is:

It protects the sights and trigger guard nicely. Much better than my low cut cowboy leather for field use.

The dump pouch seems to work nicely, as well. I've never used one of these, so I'll have to play with it some.

It carries nice and close to the body as a strong side holster. It'd make excellent concealment leather, if the gun it was made for wasn't nearly as long as a naval rifle.

And, in this size, if you ever find yourself up a creek without a paddle, you can paddle home with it.

Very nice.

Have one for a S&W 629. It holds the big and heavy gun well and distributes the weight well.

Quality is good. My only issue is I got the plain Jane version and its not very pretty.

In hindsight probably would have gone with a different holster had I'd known

Nice!

I have that exact holster (minus all the fancy leatherwork) for my 629. I really like mine, especially the fact that it can be used crossdraw, which is the position I prefer when using my climber. The only problem I have with mine is that it squeaks... don't know if the wilderness tactical belt I wear it on contributes to the problem, but it is pretty loud when you are trying to sneak through the woods. Maybe I need to find something to soften the leather around the belt loop holes. Congrats on your new holster!

Scotty
Put some shoe polish on/in/around the holes. It will help with the squeaks.

Awesome rig Mat!
