...........I just want to add that I've found that THR is the most polite and open minded forum that I've had the pleasure to belong to. I've joined a few due to the few different firearms that I've acquired. And I've not visited many of them after awhile due to the attitudes there. I shoot BP as well as centerfire and know that we all need to stick together on anything firearm related. And we definitely need to put up a centralized strong front. So if someone's grammar is a little less than stellic, so be it. We're up against a far bigger battle in the political arena these days and in the upcoming couple of years, national and local. I know that politicians in Pa are pushing hard for Hitleresque reforms now as we type. So my humble advice is that ALL firearm owners of every type stand together and start paying attention to the politics going on. And inform their less politically inclined but firearm owning friends. There have been times when attitudes (for lack of a better word), have been policed, And should've been. After all, we are the High Road. We would like all of America to know that firearearm owners are not a pack of wild-eyed killers. We are doctors, lawyers, teachers, farmers, electricians(that's me), janitors(that used to be me), bankers(friend of mine, we reload and shoot together, irks the heck out out of him because he's not allowed to carry in the bank, BTW, we have a lot of bank robberies these days in the Valley. Gee, maybe if the stupid banks would allow their employees to carry, there wouldn't be a problem!), and many more occupations that cross this great nation of ours. As long as we get the gist of a post, we should be satisfied. As long as we are all going High Road, then anybody from the outside can read our posts and know that there is someone standing right next to them might have a firearm on their person and unselfishly protect them if need be. Because that person posted, we know that person is one of us, and can be counted on for support when needed. I'm sorry for this being so long.

I wonder why and how they decided to lock out my thread. I was about to wax poetic about innate integriy of people who choose muzzleloading over modern guns. the freely asked and given advice found on this forum is generally stated in such a way that it welcomes new members, Imagine a person starting a thread stating that he wants to get in muzzleloading. First we would refer him to the stickies at the top of the page. From there no questions would be treated as stupid. That's why I'm still here.

Shawnee and Pancho

Shawnee, it causes me distress that this is happening. It tells me personally that they are going to try to delay till they find out which way the political winds are going to blow. They know that their decision will be a landmark choice nationwide and are afraid to step up to the plate because of their careers.

Pancho, Hang in there big guy, I honestly must admit that I haven't read the threads you posted but I've found THR to be the most polite and helpful forum that I've ever joined. I will try to search out your threads and find out the prob. Though it's not my place to do so and won't presume to be able to help. Especially at the the hour I'm posting this now and the full schedule my wife has has for me!:). I'm sorry I can't check it out immediately but household duties call and will get done or Kevin's life will not be as quiet as he likes it!:D

BTW,......

.......can you shoot treww ( got this from a fourrmer poste)? If soe, whom kares? doe your ouwn thinngg and enjuoy! We,re all here to havbe a good timme anywhhoo.

FWIW this is one of the better forums even with the few who don't always act high road from time to time on it that or the quick thread locks before all opinions can be expressed.

Everyone can contribute or add or bring something to the table sometimes posts may teach or educate someone more than you may think or know.

Not everyone has perfect English skills or grammar (I know I don't:neener:) or full understanding or awareness of topics covered in the posts, we all learn as we go along.

To all who take the high road and share along the journey a big THANK YOU!!!

With understanding and compassion I must say. It behooves you to try and raise the bar in any discipline you choose to undertake. Be it muzzleloading or communicating on a forum. Some people will always react in a short manner. You will only be insulted if you let them. You cannot be insulted without your capitulation.

As in the OP, where there is no sentence structure. To older eyes it looks like a block of letters randomly strung together. Some people will take the time to figure out what he is trying to communicate, some will not.

If you are going to take the time from your finite lifespan to participate in a forum wouldn't you like for your posts to be read and understood?

Excellent point by CrawdaddyJim

I will not take the time or effort to read a post that contains poor grammar or spelling. I don't mind a few mistakes, but ones that contain several misspellings and clearly don't even try to correctly spell even the simplest words, or contain many punctuation or sentence construction errors just aren't worth my time. If someone doesn't care enough about their own ideas to express them clearly and with care, why should I care enough to read them?

Mistakes are ok; we all make some. Lack of care and consideration for the reader are not.

I take the time to read my posts and correct my errors. I'm not perfect and don't catch them all, but at least I try, and I appreciate it when others do too.

"I would think if a post was, for any reason, not worth my time to read; it would also not be worth my time to ridicule."

+1

If constructive criticism is ridicule then we as a race would have not progressed beyond the cave.

I would not ridicule someone for trying to express their opinion or idea. I would try to help them be more successful in their attempt. How they take the criticism is beyond my control. It takes two people to have a discussion unless that person has multiple personalities and mental issues.

Communication is the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, signals, writing, or behavior.

And I did read Kevin's post or I would not have responded to it.

Me Too.

I also did not read that post. But I agree that all gun owners need to stick together. I am an Endowment NRA member. My son could not afford it ,(wife, my grand kids etc.) So I signed him up as a life member and paid the bill.
This may take a bite out of some. But I will continue to do this as my Grand kids get older. I have already stocked up on their futuer arms. Got another one on the way now so I need to go shopping again.:)
