Forgive me in advance for this thread... once I actually wake up probably will resent having posted it.

Of all the rifles out there (bolt, semi auto, lever), which makes your heart skip the most when you see it? I have to vote for the Remington 700 Mountain LSS...

This is a pointless thread I'm creating no next to 0 sleep.... so when I wake up I'll post something more relevant.

Hard to pin down my favorites, but an iron-framed 1860 Henry would make my heart skip a beat or two.

1) One of my two MN 44s with the laminated stock.
2) The Mini 30, ss with wood: don't have an M-1 Garand.
Have no scopes, gimmicks, other fancy add-ons. Just basic rifles.
Nothing personal meant by this.

Simple military-styled rifles look like they are all business. They were all that my heroes in the world wars and later ever had in combat.

my winchester model 54 w/ a factory in 1929 stainless steel barrel

5. Original U.S. Gov. Property 1911's

Needless to say, I own none of the above mentioned. Those are just a few of the queens I would love to add to my home.

1. straight stocked lever guns (especially marlins) with real good wood.

2. Decked out bullpup EBRs like that Tavor above, or a slick Aug!

M1 Garand, M1 Carbine top the list for me. Beyond that, CZ 452s always pique my interest, not sure if it's quite to the level of song, though.

A minty 1909 Peruvian contract Mauser. Most impressive is the skill of the machine operators that made these 100 years ago.

There are nicer rifles out there, and there are rifles I might even prefer to shoot... but nothing makes me warm and fuzzy inside like my very first SMLE. She was the first rifle I purchased myself, and she started my C&R fever. I'll never sell or trade this rifle away, even if I acquire nicer Enfields.

*EDIT*

And yes, my SMLE is the one that has a special place in my heart even though I own a Swiss K31, even though the K31 does shoot better and is an amazing piece of machinery.
