Called up ruger about getting a singlesix fixed that survived hurricane katrina, they told me they do not fix water damaged guns. Instead of fixing the guns they sell you a new one at half the msrp. Still dont know if I want stainless or blued. Lets see your single six!

thanks
Ian

I COULD show you mine, but you are lucky to find them [old 3 screw].

I like the blued version myself on the cowboy action revolvers. I like SS on revolvers like the GP100.

My next purchase is a stainless steel single six. I use my guns a lot, and the stainless holds better than blue in my experience.

I have a couple of Ruger .22's.....

Here is my OM Single Six with a 9-1/2" barrel:

Ian What kind of damage are you dealing with water or otherwise if ruger wont help there are alot of good gunsmiths in La. that can fix you up including Red Jacket for one send us some pics and lets see what ya need
:D

I don't have a pic, but I own a 50th Year Single-Six Convertible...4-5/8" barrel, blue, fixed sights

Mic...do you hunt with those yard-long barreled 6's? I dont image you would need ammo, you could just 'pistol-whip' small game with those things. :D :D

Ha ha ha.....Yep, all three of those have taken their fair share of critters.....mostly jack rabbits and rattlers. I am in the process of scoping the NM Super Single Six. I have installed a Weigand scope mount, now all I need to do is pick up a scope for it....

Well... lets see... the most recent, a 4 5/8" convertible

Then, 5.5" stainless convertible

I think that is an important thing to emphasize. I hear all the time people tearing into Ruger for different things. They have absolutely no obligation to do anything for you, considering that it was water damaged in a hurricane, but they are willing to sell you a gun for 50% MSRP? Im sure they arent losing much, if at all, but its still a great thing for a company to do.

Half off MSRP on a new Single Six is a great deal and kudos to Ruger for making such an offer. If it were me I would go with a stainless model only because I have always had blued Single Sixes and this would be a nice change of pace.

Nice choice! My first Super Single Six was a 4 5/8" barrel model. Always liked the way it looked and balanced in my hand.
