As a novice to semi- rifles, are SKS rifles anticipated to go up in price fairly steadily in the next few months, and later, even if a Democrat is NOT elected to the White House?

How about the lowest-priced Russian ammo, typically Wolf, Brown/Silver Bear, Golden Tiger in both 7.62x39 and .223?
Already have lots of Mosin ammo.

My rifles (other than .22) are Mini 14, 30, two Mosin Nagants 44 and 91/30.

An SKS would make this group of military or m.-style rifles a bit complete.
And so far, all use affordable bulk ammo.
This is the main reason why I chose all of these popular guns.

i own a yugo. ammo in ct is around 6.99 for 20 or 124.00 for 500. a yugo in good condition (local shop needs to make his money) is $240. yes a bit steep but had no shipping/ffl/ any other holdups. i believe it is going to be your second cheapest gun to go to the range with. you also can get better deals on ammo if you buy 1000 at a time. but you wont be dissapointed and its a great gun that i use for the bulk of my range time.
sorry about that but yes there will surely be an increase since there numbers of 50 year old rifles are drying up.

Murphy's Law of Acquisitions

Corollary 223: Any firearm you're even thinking of purchasing should have been bought twenty years ago.

Corollary 308: Any ammunition you're even thinking of purchasing should have been bought twenty years ago.:what:

Corollary 748: Any gunpowder you're even . . . well, you've figured it out by now or there is no hope.

Prices ALWAYS increase. It's toughest on Old Farts like me who have good memories.

Prices do increase and yes it's tough on those of us who can remember the days of $79.00 brand new Norinco SKS'. Or $69.00 for a case of 7.62X39.

Anyway even at $230.00-$300.00, an SKS is still a good deal considering the cost of other rifles. Espc if you can get someone to sell you an older Russian, Norinco or Romanian. If all you can find is the Yugo's thats fine too, you just have to deal with a having a little less desireable rifle.

Prices will certianly continue to increase on SKS and 7.62X39 in the next few years (months even) because:
1. There is not an infinite supply of these 50yr old rifles left and we have bought about all of them I think.
2. Inflation of the dollar.
3. Even if a new supply of SKS' suddenly appears, (ie we re-estabilish legal gun trade with Russia or China) gun suppliers/deals have goten a taste of what the public is willing to pay and the day of a $79.00 SKS or $69.00 per 1K ammo is over forever.
4. In general the US public is moving (as a whole) toward more Socialized public policys and electing more and more of these nanny state promisers to office. That means more and more attacks/restrictions on your 2A. That means less supply and more demand. That means higher prices.
