SKS Barrel Lengths

I have a standard and a para, and I was wondering if any of the FPS/ballistics experts could tell me if the barrel lengths matter with this caliber like they do with .308. What barrel was this round developed for? More important to me is what barrel length is optimal for utilizing the ballistics? Does all the powder burn in a Para? Is one model more accurate than the other? Does one have a longer range?

I have both and need to sell one; I like the Para but if the standard is better for some reason then, well, ya know, one has to go. Thanks.

I'm sure there is some loss, but the 7.62x39 has the advantage of working well in shorter barrels.

The 16" bbl of the SKS is the same length as the standard AK.

SKS's come in 2 lengths.
Standard 20"
paratrooper 16"

Those are the only two length's I know of.
