-well, I took it to shoot and I realized it would spit the brass straight up, to the left, backwards, far right, right into the next shooter (sorry!) all over the place (even on top of my head).
I noticed this right away, since all the simonov rifles that my freinds own either eject the brass straight up and in front of the shooter. When I took it apart to clean afterwards, I realized the extractor spring had collapsed into itself.
I was wondering if anyone knew where to find a new one, and possible avoid this happening ever again.
My SKS is a Russian 1950 with low serials, but the gun has been rearsenaled and forcematched.
Oh, and the range report looks good! I managed to nail a 5lb watermelon from 200 yards with some wolf copper jacketed hollowpoints.
