SKS to Mag conversion

Easiest and cheapest way is to sell the SKS and buy a AK.

It ain't easy or cheap to do. There is a reason SKS-M or D models sell for more than a lower end AK.

I have one converted by Midwest Industries years ago, one of the original "D" models. It includes cutting the bolt. Best left up to the experts in my opinion.

Here's what I did:

I was told that the only mag conversion that actually works on an SKS is that one, the Tapco. I paid $100 for that rifle, and I spent about $200 on upgrades. I needed some professional help to get all of the parts together. The two things I still want to add would be a Kivarri trigger, ($59,) and a Tapco bolt that lets you remove magazines with the bolt closed. (About $100.) Then I would put it up against ANY civilian AK for any purpose. Whether or not all this trouble is worth it is for you to decide.

Remember, if you start adding things to an SKS, it needs to be 922r compliant.
