Slicking up a nickel plated coach gun

I've been wanting a stoeger coach gun for a while and thought I'd prefer the nickel plated model since I don't have any nickel plated guns. But then I got to thinking, when I go to sand and polish things like the mating surfaces and chamber mouth, how will the nickel look and feel? With bluing, doing this would just take it off and I could reblue anything I wanted to but I have no experience with nickel plating. If you have experience let me know if I should stick with the blued model or if the nickel would be ok. Thanks!

I have both - blued and nickle plated. The surfaces you are going to touch are not going to be seen until you open the action.

On my nickled gun I keep the smoothed surfaces lubricated with grease to prevent rusting. On my blued gun I did cold blue the portions taken down to the bare steel. Those bare portions I just lubricate with what ever I have at hand, oil or grease.

Buy which ever one you want. The Stoeger Coach Guns are great firearms.
