slide flats completely textured

For a while now I have been using my commander without serrations. It works ok when my hands are nice and dry but when the are not, I cannot rack the slide.

Would it be stupid to have the entire slide checkered or textured? Has this ever been done before? What kind of geometry or technique would be used to do it?

I am sure it has happened before but other than decoration what would be the purpose? It would look really poor IMO unless a lot of creativity went into it. on one of my 1911's I tend to rack from the front it has no serations so I put a strip of grip tape on each side of the slide looks good and is very functional.

Do you mean with only rear serrations? Or do you actually have a gun with no serrations?
