Hello... So, I seemed to have fixed the problem. My question is... Why would the followers get chewed up to begin with? Do you see any issues with how the magazine is seated and the slide stop? Thanks for your input. 20210801_172422.jpg

My experience with the yellow S&W followers was the worst of any of them. They were too brittle AND too soft at the same time....

But....they may fit the magazine body better than the newer ones.

Cant explain the problem you had with the blue ones, thats the first Ive seen of those. Orange was ok, black was probably the best of the plastic ones- steel was, well, steel.

Cant say I see anything wrong with the stop. Im thinking those blue ones you got were just no bueno.

Hello... Not sure anyone has ever had a gun chewing up magazine followers, but a friend pointed out that the slide lock lever should run parallel to the frame. I looked at mine and sure enough, it was slightly off. I replaced the slide lock lever and it solved the problem. I was told the part can be bent by people prying the lever off instead of pushing it out,or using hot loads.
I'm just relieved it was an easy fix and I didn't have to take it to my gunsmith. He is a very grumpy man. Amazing work, but super grumpy and not friendly at all.
