Can anyone tell me their favorite web sites to purchase 1911 grips?...I need a pair of slim ones and would like to browse thru some pictures before I buy if possible.
Has anyone tried Alumigrips?...They look interesting

I got some super slim grips from STI. They came with my Trojan.
I think Dawson Precision might sell them. People who have shot my Trojan have mentioned how slim the grips are.

Thanks guys,
I ordered a pair of black micarta slim grips from www.smithandalexander.com a website that watch six recomended.Pretty inexpensive as well...I'll give a full report when I get them installed.

I finally got em and put em on my colt govt XSE and I am very happy.I liked the gun before but I really love it now.
Small difference in thickness in reality but it does seem to make a big difference to me....anyone else?

Pearce makes a set of panels that are slim in the middle of the grip. They are curved in toward the frame between the grip screws. $14.50 plus shipping.

Chip McCormick thin grips

I just bought a set of Chip McCormick thin grips in rosewood from CDNN in Texas for my Colt Commander. They came complete with the short bushings and screws needed to install them.

The improvement in the concealability of the gun is remarkable - they seem to reduce grip thickness by about 0.2 inches, and the gun is absolutely skinny now. It is the usual 0.9 inches thick through the slide, and only 1.1 inches thick through the grip panels. It is not as thin as my Walther PPK, but it is getting close. I really like them. I think they are an essential for any 1911 that is going to be carried concealed.
