I'm trying to come up with some sort of sling for a Stoeger Coach gun and a Stoeger Uplander. Does anyone make a barrel band/sling swivel for SxS doubles?

What about just some sort of leather sling, tied around the barrels in front of the fore end and at the wrist of the stock? How would I keep the leather from sliding on the barrels?

Thanks for any help,
Steve

That has been done. The English leatherworkers did very fancy carrying straps with loops for barrel and stock to avoid the Continental custom of putting swivels on shotguns. I think Galco has made them. 'Bout the price of your Stoeger. Dixie Gun Works has had frontier style straps a lot simpler and a lot less expensive.

You keep the front loop from slipping off the barrels by carrying the gun muzzle down.

Orvis, Drake's and other posh emporiums for the Sporting Gentry carry slings that do not use studs and swivels. A double loop system is employed, easily put on and taken off.

HTH....

Thanks for the help. I'll check out Dixie Gun Works.

Dave - for the price of these Stoegers, it sounds like those posh emporiums are probably a bit more high-brow ($$$) than I'm looking for (for these guns).

Thanks!
Steve
