SloMo Video Of AirSoft Gas Blowback 1911

Playing around with my new Casio EX-FH20 Digital Camera that has a neat high speed video mode. The frame sizes are pretty small but the quality in good light is really good for the price.

Thought I'd share a video clip of an AirSoft 1911 style gas blowback pistol firing a couple of shots at 1000 frames per second.

I like how the recoil of the slide sends the muzzle down since its mass is so much greater than the "bullet".

Yes, that is the one. EX-FH20 in particular. It outputs MJPEG which is very easy to edit on Linux or Windows -- didn't need to even open the CD that came with the camera.

I just wish the resolution was better at 1000 fps. Its "HD" mode at 720x1280 P30 looks very good but 30fps is too slow for sports or "action". Its a pretty decent still camera too, but I really got it to play with the HD and high speed video.

I thought about YouTube but I'd need to create an account there and I wouldn't be able to control the final encode format so no telling what it'd end up like. The Windows Live account I had already setup to get the Windows 7 RC1 trial download.
