Anyone know anything about this K-100 I actually some how ran across it while researching up on the Hi Power. It appears to be based off the Hi Power only with a different "improve" recoil, lock up action. I was wondering if this is a production handgun that could be had, or maybe is and not imported. For a polymer pistol I like the looks of it. Whats the scoop y'all have on it?

It more than likely isn't much like a Hi Power at all as it seems its a complete different design just guessing they are going for an "improved hi power" based off the "Grand Power" name.

They make good bread and dairy products and perhaps good pistols too. This is same gun as STI International GP5 or GP6. You try first.

Awesome... will have to look more into these. They look like nice polymer pistols, wonder if they run as good as they look. First I want a steel Hi-Power but then it may end up being this or a polymer witness.

*This pistol seems more like a Beretta than HP. To correct myself on my first post.

The STI pistols had to be slightly modified to meet import regulations, but basically they are the same as the K100. From what I hear and read, they are very good pistols.

this pistol has nothing to do with a BHP or a beretta. it's basically an original design but using ideas that have been used before but still unique.

i think the name "grand-power" is confusing you. it has gone through a few variations, the latest of which has interchangeable backstraps and sold by sti international. go to stiguns.com and find it there. they have two models i believe.

it uses a rotating barrel design that has a pin across a strong, steel sub-frame. the sub-frame is one of the strongest looking i have ever seen on any polymer pistol. it also has ambi safety levers that do not decock. iirc, you can use it C&L or hammer down and safety on.

for the most part,it has only been popular in certain parts of europe and russia(ukraine iirc) where some use it for competition.

it seems to be a high quality piece but i have never seen any parts sold for it and i'm sure there isn't that much for it in after-market. that said, iirc, dawson i think might sell FO front sights for it and there's probably an extended base pad for it somewhere(but don't quote me on that). i'm sure sti would service it but you'll have to ask them if they would sell you extra parts for it and what else they might have. there's probably holsters for it somewhere.

some initial reports from american owners have said you need to keep the cross-pin well lubed.

the beretta px4 uses a totally different rotating barrel system but the principle is that same.

It shares nothing with Hi Power, it uses rotating barrel.
Magazines work just fine in CZ75 SP01 (but not vice versa), everything - slide release, magazine and safety are ambidextrous, name K100 was choosen because its suposed to withstand over 100 000 shots and its in service with Slovakian army.
Ms one's doing just fine after about 3000 round, photo with Ruger LCP i quite like and chose it over Glock 17, CZ75, Springfield XP and few others.

Have you checked its homesite?

btw: You can carry it in Glock 21 holsters as i do.

Actually I first thought it was redsign of Hi Power just cause I was looking at Hi Powers when I found it and the name "Grand Power"... As I stated in my first post I kinda thought it didn't have much in common. Then the rotating bolt made me think that it was more like Beretta but like priler said its nothing like it and actually patent by the company that makes them.

Anyhow I think this may very well fill my polymer pistol slot when time comes, if the SR9 doesnt take that place first... then again I am still young and there is no reason to stop with one polymer pistol!

The hammer is changed to STI's signature one too.

I am a big STI 1911 fan and have looked at this GP6 and the GP5 for over a year, but haven't seen one in person yet.

I have seen and handled one at my lgs, but I have not fired it. The SA trigger is very, very nice, but it gives off a tiny "click" once any sort of pressure is applied to it. Not sure what that's about. Maybe I'm too used to shooting 1911's.

How much is the STI GP6C?Is this a compact version of a GP6?Are they available in .40 S&W and 9x19?Looks interesting.

I want to pull the trigger on a GP5, but these seem to be price fixed. At $600 it's tough to jump first. But I do like the unusual. In fact I am really trying to decide between the GP5 and the Caracal C right now.

In case anyone was wondering about the GP5 (Compact size) I found this image on the net - Glock 19 vs STI GP5:
