I just bought a brand new A5 and want to use some slug loads in it. It came with 3 chokes but the widest one is a lead IC / steel Mod.

1) Can I shoot slugs out of that?
2) I can't find a cylinder choke for it, but I can find a skeet, should I buy that?
3) I'm assuming no sabot'd slugs through either of the above. Has anyone found a rifled Invector DS choke?

Thanks for your answers...

Any chokes except super full or turkey chokes will work with a standard foster style slug, they are made to swage down and fit the bore of the choke. I/C would be the best choice for this application.

Best bet for bulk box run of the mill "rifled" lugs (foster type) is your imp cylinder. Most of the old smoothbore slug barrels had that. Normally, don't go tighter than mod.

Check your manual. I think they are the same as Benelli and Beretta Chokes. Also Carlson or some one makes chokes that fit. But as others said, for Foster slugs, Improved cylinder is fine.

Benelli shotguns take a number of different chokes dependent on model, same with Beretta. There are also a few models of both Beretta and Benelli that use the same choke, namely the Mobil. The A5 takes the Invector DS choke I’m pretty sure, if not it uses Invector Plus. When I was selling guns I saw quite a few shotguns brought in with ruined barrels due to using chokes meant for other shotgun brands.
