Public reply to many that have asked.

I have two shotguns left.
I have one sentimental 12 ga semi auto off site, and I hope nothing happens to it.
The other is a Youth H&R Topper in 20 ga, with fixed modified choke and recoil pad.
This is the one I keep at the house, and I really could not tell you when I last actually shot this gun.
It has felled deer, geese, ducks, small game and IIRC my best was 200/200 shooting regulation skeet.
IIRC my best was a limit of 15 doves using 12 shells.

I really do just show up, and assist, and use a BB gun or a Youth Single Shot .410 in Neon yellow with tie-dye paint to use as my assisting tool.

I rarely shoot, unless I have to , some special reason or special occasion.

For years and years, when I was going to actually shoot, I just showed up and used whatever tossed to me and whatever loads.
Just run what I brung if you will.

I started real damn young, and went full bore, and had a lot of fun doing testing, eval, review and piddlin' along the way.
Not anal, not compulsive, just having a good time with some things, akin to what Brister and others shared in works.

I walked off before the Great Equipment race, before many of the current gun games, - I and mine were doing this stuff before it come to be.
I and mine burned sanctioned cards and membership cards - went turned Rebel, Outlaw and Desperado - as the private joke goes.

I shot and won 18 medals ( something like this, who cares? I don't) under a Alias.
I did it to have fun, just because, and there was a private backer(s) and that money went to a Military Family with a sick kid.

The medals, all given away. Many went to kids that were sick, or dying and "I will never get a chance to win a medal".
They got medals and in my and mine books, they damn sure earned them!

Oh I have had nice guns, I gave some away to very special folks, and the guns are still running.
I have had life experiences happen more than once and guns burned up.

Model 97's, Model 12 in a all 4 gauges, Model 1300 in all 4 gauges, Ithaca 37s, and my pet bone stock Riot shotgun
Winchester Custom shop SX1s, 101, 23s
Rem 32, Perazzi MX8 ( two matching sets btw) and all sorts of other guns.
Six pallets of ammo, reloading supplies, equipment...
And this just shotgun stuff.
This does not take into account stuff like 200 or so 1911 mags , 24 1911s, a dozen BHPs...
3 NIB Colt ARs.

*shrug* Called life, deal with it.

I miss the people, more than the guns - guns my mentors and elders guns, and those they gave me these,

I am the last surviving person of more than one original thing, and I was not the youngest.
Some kinfolks of one, when we had a tribute when a place was finally pulled down and closed tried to give ma a 28 ga single shot, as I don't have one.
I had to ...and they knew why, I gave that gun to a baby. I shot with his kinfolk in the original deal.
I fired the gun once and felled two clays on doubles at station 6.
I fired it once more, saying good bye to a place now gone, in tribute to those now gone.

No guarnetee I will be alive when that baby is old enough to shoot, but I kept my promise to me, others and seemed to be the right thing to do, giving this baby a gun with no misses.

Some wanted to know.
Others are going to think what they will.

Some have tried to give me, or loan me a shotgun, and I will not take one.

There are those, like Will Fennel, I would like to meet, sip coffee and watch and learn from them.
I don't need a gun, or ears or eyes, to do that.
I'd just as soon watch, or borrow eye and ears to pull for a student of his, or for him and his better half.

None of this was ever about me, always about others.
Some understand this, some don't.
