I just picked up my new polish underfolder by Allied Armament today and let me start off by saying it is badass. But there is one problem. The magazines will not lock all the way into place, and some of them will not lock into place at all. I have assessed that the problem is that the latch which locks it into place and is depressed to remove the mag is just a hair too long at the top so the part of the mag that locks into the latch is keeping it from locking in all the way. If i could just make it a bit shorter it would be able to completely lock up. So... Is the only way to fix that just someway to file it down? And if so how would one go about doing that? I dont know how i could remove the latch from the rifle so i would just have to do it on the gun and the space to get the file in there is very small... Any thoughts? Thanks.

Let me off this advise --WE on the web cant see the gun --I suggest you take it to a gunsmith [one who likes EBRs+aws] and have them take a look!
If you need to file down a part you should remove it and put it in a vise where you can see what you are doing
Do any mags fit?? If so you are only a few thou. off tollerences and maby it will break in as you work the mags back and forth

Sounds like you need to file the mag catch, like when converting a Saiga. Get a diamond tipped Dremel bit, about $9 at Lowes. Have someone hold the rifle stable and vertical for you, and grind the top the the mag catch lever. The steel is very hard, you won't screw it up quickly, just stop and check the fit with a mag every little while.

ok thanks for the info guys. Yes a few of them do fit, but it still does not click and lock all the way.

Just take it slow with the dremmel. The last thing you want is to find out that none of the mags will lock into place.

My Yugo underfolder needed a bit of filing to fully lock mags - was a bit of a surprise to me, but after thirty seconds of filing it's fine now.

My Vector (polish) does the same thing with about 4 mags, other ones fit fine. I would check other mags before you go filing away at your gun, and possibly file those mags instead of the rifle. You don't want to find out you had a couple out of spec mags and then have a problem with mag wobble when you get more magazines that are in spec.

Where did you get it if I my ask?
I just picked one up, my 1st AK, you are right, it is badass!!!
