Fired some ar223 brass rounds. Upon inspection of empties, I see a small horizontal score mark/indentation on the side of the main body of the brass case. It is quite slight, but defenitely noticeable.
I run my finger over it and can feel the indentation.
W/o posting a pick, any thoughts on cause of such a indentation, and thoughts on safely resizing/reloading these cases.
I fear scratching a resizing die or having an unsafe reloaded round using such cases to load again.
Input?

The brass is getting dented when it ejects. No worries, happens to most of mine and so far on resize #8 with my FC with out issues. Been checking with a pick for case head indicators since reload 6.

Without a pic, it sounds like normal ding from hitting brass deflector.

When I first started 300BLK I couldn't figure out what was wrong with my ammo and why most of my spent brass had a half-moon case mouth. So short, it flips and hits the brass deflector - violently - with the case mouth :) A patch of fuzzy side stick-on velcro cured it. Might do same for you.

Barrel extension nut may have a burr as well as the magazine, these are normally toward the neck area. Just start running your finger over the edges if you have access. The magazine is easy to check, for it's normally a longer scratch. It can come from the bolt riding over the lower round in the magazine too.
