Smallest Reliable Pistol.

Baby Brownings are reliable with ball.
Jetfires are reliable, period.
My P-32 is reliable with ball (can't say about HPs, haven't tried 'em).

Based on what I've read re: penetration, I wouldn't carry anything smaller than the P-32.

Baby Browning would be the smallest reliable autoloader of which I'm aware.

Bersa Thunder 380

$199, and it runs GREAT. Out of the first 300 rounds I fired, I had two misfeeds, that were ammo related. No failures since. (I haven't shot it much, tho)

I need to find some Gold dot to carry in her... and I need to get my freaking CHL soon....

Bersas, Kahrs and Glocks the SMALLEST reliable pistol? Wow, all those other little guns must be terrible if you have to get something that BIG for reliability.

My ancient P32 (ser # 035xx)...

I guess that makes mine downright archaic then... after all, I was the among the first to receive a P32 in my area. :D

#01361 (no, not really concerned about listing the complete seriel number; just too lazy to care).

Early model, and still no reliability issues.

It seems as if the Kel-Tec P-32 either works or it doesn't. Mine didn't work at first so I sent it back to the factory and it works perfectly now. I can now trust it to fire when I need it.

When they work, they are the smallest most reliable pistol.

P-32

Got mine a few weeks ago (100,0**). Had a few jams within the first 50 rounds. Since then (hundreds of rounds later) it works fine. Especially after breaking it down and giving it a good cleaning.

My P-32 has been 100% reliable for hundreds of rounds with nothing done to it out of the box -- except clean and lube.

My P-40 has been similarly reliable with quality ammo and nothing done to it except a home-done feed ramp polish like I do to all my semi-autos.

Curious

Seems as if the two favorites are the P-32 and Jetfire.

For comparison, what are spec's? Size, weight , and ammo, price points.

I do have a P-11, been flawless, and word is Keltec's service is great. I did have a model 21, LEO bought it for his mom. I have handled but not not shot the P-32...and that was quite a while back.

Consideration: when one can't carry, but does. Kahaki's, shirt, no tie...office and people. His office does not have signage he can't, what if in calling on customers...well you know.

I do this with a P-11, or Jframe...He thinks he needs smaller.

Hi Guys,

For me:

.22LR NAA mini 1 1/4 bbl.
.32 LWS Seecamp
9mm Kahr PM9

(I would have said Colt Pocket 9 but it hasn't been too reliable for me. Others have noted differently.)

:fire: Berretta Minx in .22 short , used to carry it in my back pocket , in a flat holster, as a back up gun. Had it many years, shot it many times , with no problems. Always had .22 short hollow points in it. They don't sound like much, but I would hate to be shot with one.

Smallest, reliable handgun in my collection that I carry is my Keltec P11.
I used to have a Beretta 21A that's somewhat reliable, It gets finicky (mostly FTE's) usually after 300+ rounds through it. I think its due to the fact that it has no extractor, so when the chamber gets dirty, shells get stuck. The P11 never given me any problem.

Hello re1973

For general full-time in-the-pocket concealability, nothing ever made touches the P32. I've carried and tried over a dozen pocket pistols over the years and the P32 is absolutely superior to any of the others. At a uniform 3/4" in width, it's just about the flattest autoloader ever made. At 9.9 oz and with a capacity of 8 rounds, it is easily the lightest most comfortable gun this die-hard pocket guy has ever carried. My 3-year old P32 went EVERYWHERE with me in an Uncle Mike's slightly modified size one pocket holster. I am now holding out for Kel-Tec's highly anticipated P-3AT, which is chambered for the .380 auto round.
It is desiged around the platform nearly indentical in size and weight to the P32. The gun has no external controls to confuse the owner in an emergency situation; Just draw and fire the 5 lb double-action trigger until the mag is MT or the threat is over.

P-32? Who want's a gun that you have to send back to the factory for a fluff and buff before it'll even work right?

I bought my P32 (Chrome slide, green grip) last fall. Other than cleaning and lubricating, I have done nothing to it. It has had a total of 4 "Failures to Eject" out of 150rnds, all with one brand of ammo (Magtech). It has been 100% reliable with RWS hardball ever since (150rnds or RWS and counting). I went all 300 rounds without cleaning it (other than wiping it down externally) and never had any problems other than a decrease in accuracy during the last 50rnds.

I consider the P32 reliable.

another vote for the p32 - mine has had no problems whatsoever in about 500 rounds fired (HP, FMJ, even mixed mags).

I've also got a P11 that has had absolutely no problems.

I forgot to mention...

..that I did have one problem with my P-32. I ordered a metal guide rod. The slide would just go about half way to the mag...and stop. Didn't even START to strip the round from the mag. I got out the ol' Dremal tool and polished that rod until it looked like a mirror. Still, the slide stopped. I called Kel-Tec and they sent me a new metal rod plus a new guide for the slide. (FREE) It STILL didn't work properly! I took this as an omen. I called Kel-Tec back and ordeed three new plastic guide rods for "just in case". They sent me the rods and springs at no cost and I put them in my range bag. That's been about a year ago and the original plastic rod hasn't broken yet, but I'm prepared if it ever does.

I've had very reliable performance from:

Kahr PM9
Beretta 950, as long as it's kept clean.
Taurus PT22
Guardian 32, OK most of the time

Even though I SWORE I would never buy another Kel-Tec P32, I bought 1 after reading so many posts about how the bugs have been worked out of the newer guns. So far so good. Keeping my fingers crossed (which makes pulling the trigger difficult!)

Autauga MKII...no failures, yet...but then again I havent shot it much, and have only had it a couple weeks...but for the price, they are worth considering. 199 CDNN investments.

P32 is definantly a winner..........its my all the time carry..............but i have a german PPK. 32 coming my way soon, it will probably be my "dress up" conceal carry
