:what:You be first....what's $18. :D

I read a review on their fancy "Chargemaster" type scale, and they weren't at all impressed...something about a cheap copy. If "cheap copy" runs through all their products....

Looks like a RBCS copy.

This is like going to a new restaurant, a job only for the brave. I'm more of a word of mouth guy.:)....uh, let us know!

I am a happy longtime user of Lee Auto Prime.

Maybe I will toss that in with my next Grafs order. If I do, I will post back.

I was really looking at the RCBS hand primer with universal shell holder (Why can't everyone go with the square primer tray?).

Buy the RCBS and be done with it once & for all.

I have a cigar box half full of junque Lee primer tool parts under my reloading bench.

My RCBS tool as been 100% since I got it in 1970 something.

If by "cheap" you mean a much less costly but effective copy, I like that idea. What I don't like is vastly over-priced originals! But, in this instance, I'm too happy with my 22 year old Lee AutoPrimes to care.

Cheap Chinese copies!
Yeah, I was suspicious of that.

Well, I'll happily chug along and keep using my Lee Auto Prime. If I wear it out, I will pick up the RCBS.

I prefer to support USA companies and keep families in this country fed if/when I have a choice.

This RCBS is what I prefer to use now, my two Lee tools are now retired. They sit on a special shelf for venerable antiques.;)

I did a Picture Review on the new tool. Here.

Cheap Chinese copies! Read that as meaning JUNK!

Sorry snuffy, you need to look at all the "Cheap chinese stuff" you buy and use everyday. Not standing up for china, don't get me wrong, but we as a socity have demanded cheap, cheap, cheap for years. It used to be Japanese toys back in the 50's, then inexpensive cars and small P/U's. Then it went into Chinese electronics and photo equipment. Now its moved into most of everything we purchase from food, to electronics, computors, TV's, DVD players ect, to tools, replacement auto body parts, the list is endless.

We seem to be our own worst enemy!

Anyone here turn down Wolf or PMC primers for the soul reason of being imported!
Next time you purchase powder check the bottle to see country of manufacture.

I don't think Snuffy was talking about "good" imported products. We as consumers have to be careful, or foreign companies will dump "trash" into our markets. Japan did, Taiwan did, it's just a learning curve on their part. When they find out "stupid" Americans won't buy junk, their products improve miraculously. This company may in fact make good products, but their scale isn't one of them...yet.;) One of the purposes of a forum like this is to watch each other's backs. Right? That said, I would agree that we do need to be careful about the facts.:)

A major warning signal of dumping junk, is a company that suddenly starts selling similar-looking products way under everybody else's prices. Kinda like the company in question is doing at present. Like I said in my first post, it takes a few "brave" souls to "test the water"...I admit I'm not one of them. It took me years to upgrade to the (not cheaper) RCBS primer tool from my trusty Lee....and yes, I wish I had done it sooner.

Well a blanket statement was made with no reference to "good, not so good, or no good", just cheap junk.

Smartreloader products seem to be a line of goods private labled by Smartreloader in Italy.

Exactly. Snuffy's quote, "Cheap Chinese copies! Read that as meaning JUNK!" is often true. He didn't even mention "Expensive Chinese copies", or even "quality Chinese copies", he only referred to the "cheap" ones.

The Italian company you refer to is the exclusive "world distributor" of SmartReloader Products. They distribute RCBS and other American companies as well. (though not excusively) They don't manufacture anything. SmartReloader is their "house" brand" of imported products ordered in their "yellow color" with their brand name. I highly suspect most of their "imported brands" come from Chinese manufacturers, who copy, RCBS, Lyman, and others. I admit I don't have proof...as they hide their product origins. The M.O. fits though....

Try reading the Link in Snuffy's post...here's one post in that link:

I was exhibiting at the NASGW Show in Atlanta back in 2008 when they showed up with a booth right next to us with all the stuff they copied from the other vendors. I could not believe how the sales reps and wholesale companies cuddled up to them and told them how innovative they were. I as well as the other companies they copied could not believe the positive reception they were given. As a consumer I would promote that if you want an RCBS powder measure, then buy it from the company that designed and built it. As long as people are buying the knock-offs, those manufacturers will keep copying product.

I used the Lee Auto Prime (similar to the design in your photo) for several years and I liked it. However after a couple thousand rounds, I noticed I was getting a lot of high primers. This resulted in numerous FTFs in my 1911 and an occasional FTF in bolt rifles. The trouble was the linkage in the Lee was worn enough that it wouldn't seat the primer all the way flush. I've since switched to the Lee Ram Prime and I like it a lot. There's no question about getting a high primer with this system. Since switching to the Ram Prime, I've had no more issues.

Never said they manufactured anything.

With that said,

I took it to mean cheap versus inexpensive. The cheapest isn't necessarily the least expensive.
