I just found a model 34-1, 4 inch barrel, in pretty used shape with after market grips for $200.00. The oustide has seen better days but the barrel and inside the cylinder look pretty good. It may look better once I clean it up but right now it is filthy-dirty. Its on layway right now but I will bring it home with in the week. What is the going prices from poor on up to excellent? Can someone tell me when mine was made? M911XX it is pinned and I think recessed.

I know I posted this on the other 34 smith post but I am still curious about the last part of the post.
Thanks,

Wow,

So I guess mine was an early 70's depending on when they started the serial numbers.

Congratulations. $200 for any Model 34 that works is a great price, IMO. Don't worry about the grips. Factory J-frame grips are plentiful and cheap.

I performed all the sticky check out's I could remember and everything checked out good. The only draw back is its outside apperence, It looks a bit worn, but it should look better when I clean it up. It is really filthy!
