Went back to the gunshop today to buy the model 19 for $295, and when I got there, they had just taken in a Model 34-1 4" Nickle Kit Gun that they wanted $325 for.

I've always wanted one of these hand little kit guns. It was in great shape, easily 99%, not a mark on it except for a ring around the firing pin on the recoil shroud where the cartridge rests agains it in the cylinder, and that may evev be cleanable. Doesn't look like this gun has had two boxes os shells through it.

Earlier today I got great advice on buying the Mod 19. What do you good folks think about the Model 34-1?

Thanks for your help

Congratulations

Great firearm, and very hard too find in a 2" barrel model. $325 isn't
bad for a factory nickel 99 per center, even with a 4" tube.~! :D

Your S&W 34-1 .22 LR "Kit Gun" was discontinued in 1991, and prices
for pristine condition examples has risen sharply over the last few years.
