I could put a picture up but what's it going to prove. Nothing, maybe it's someone else revolver.

They's need their daily dosage of firearms, friends, neighbors, the friend that knows a friend that has one, etc. :D

I'm still looking. How about a pic of my daisy red rider. Oh wait that was stolen after I posted a picture of it. Damn.

Hi...
My favorite .357 Magnum revolver is my S&W 686 Silhouette Model with an 8-3/8" barrel.
Shot it in competition back in the day...many thousands of rounds sent downrange all in .357Mag brass.
Lots of rounds with hot 125gr, 158gr and 180gr near book maximum loads shot at 50, 100 and 200 rounds. I haven't shot more than a few hundred rounds at that power level and range in several years now...probably should load some of the heavy loads up and see if I can still shoot them as well as the gun is capable of shooting.
Most of my .357Mag shooting in recent years has been mid power range cast bullets loads at a maximum of 25yds.

Congratulations It sounds like your local shop is located back in 1998, $500 for a 686 NIB. Does it have a hammer nose firing pin too and no lock?
I have a 686+ 4" made in 1999, and a 686 6" with the lock tehy are the reason why I have not bought a python yet. I cant imagine the colt shooting better or having a better trigger.

Per his picture, it has a lock.

I belong to a tiny minority of S&W lovers that never warmed up to the 586/686, but there's no denying that it's a ton of gun for the money. Definitely the best value in a .357 Mag. revolver, at least in my opinion, and a great wheelgun regardless of price. Just doesn't do it for me personally, for some reason.

I am in the same exclusive club. I do have a 6" 686 Classic Hunter, but it has sat in the safe for about 3 decades now...maybe I should sell it? I like the N-Frames and the K-Frames, but not the L-Frame. I do have to admit that my 686 has a great action and is accurate, but I still prefer my Model 27s.

Looks like savagelover can shoot that L-Frame just fine though.
