What ever,I think it was old stock covered with dustI would like to believe you that you bought a 686 for $500, without pictures you make it difficult.
couple of rounds of .357 Magnum knocked all the dust off of it!What ever,I think it was old stock covered with dust
That's right. If you post the picture I can say, "Hey, that is my revolver that went missing last year, please give it back."I could put a picture up but what's it going to prove. Nothing, maybe it's someone else revolver.

Well ok Mr Grumpy.I could put a picture up but what's it going to prove. Nothing, maybe it's someone else revolver.

Well that settles it. I ain't posting any more gun purchase pictures here. That does look like a 686 that was stolen a few months back. I will kindly refund your $500 and will even throw in an extra $5 for your troubles.
Per his picture, it has a lock.Congratulations It sounds like your local shop is located back in 1998, $500 for a 686 NIB. Does it have a hammer nose firing pin too and no lock?
I have a 686+ 4" made in 1999, and a 686 6" with the lock tehy are the reason why I have not bought a python yet. I cant imagine the colt shooting better or having a better trigger.
I belong to a tiny minority of S&W lovers that never warmed up to the 586/686, but there's no denying that it's a ton of gun for the money. Definitely the best value in a .357 Mag. revolver, and a great wheelgun regardless of price. Just doesn't do it for me personally, for some reason.
