My friend is selling his S&W 22s with 3 magazines and scope for $225, has about 500 rounds thru it. Is this a good gun? And is that a good deal?
Thanks for your input.

Great 22, great deal. Easy to field strip and clean. Eat about anything. Currently using eight of them in my Basic pistol classes. Stoppages normally fixed with toothbrush and some CLP.

I have had one for 5 or so years now, every trip to the range it goes along and gets shot. Average of a couple hundred rounds at a time and it just keeps shooting. Accurate, easy to field strip, durable. I recommend it. Great price too.

I bought one about 6 months ago and love it. The factory irons aren't all that great but these really shine with an optic on them. I put a cheap truglo red dot on mine and it wreaks havoc on the crab apples up at camp.

I have a special run 22A with a fluted bull barrel and it's a great pistol. They are fun to shoot and most are very accurate. I don't think the 22S is still in their catalog (stainless barrel) so I can't check the price of new but the price of $225 might be a little high. Most of the 22A pistols run right around $300 new or a little less. I would try to get the price down below $200 if possible. BUT, it you feel the price is right don't pass on it, those pistols are a good buy.

Smith 22s

Some say the 22s is a better pistol. Smith quit making them because they were getting too expensive to make and keep the price low. Go figure. The trigger on my 22s is much better than the 22a.
