I was at the local Dicks sporting goods and they had the new product guide for Smith and Wesson. In the guide i read an article that was written by i think the VP of Smith and it said that they have acquired Thompson/Center Arms.....Am i the last person to hear that? If so i apologize for bringing it up. Does this mean that T/C are still made in the same factory or did they move? Also did it just mean the Icon/and Smith's bolt action are made in the same place? Thanks for the help clearing that up.

From the TC web site:

In 2007 Thompson/Center became part of Smith & Wesson Holdings, Co. and is recognized as Smith & Wesson Hunting.

The only thing that has changed is the ownership. The TC factory is in the same place..

I think I read that TC is making the barrels for the S&W bolt action rifles.

In fact, they may be making the rifles too.
The rifles that just got recalled, at least the bolts?

I wonder how well this sits with S&W now that T/C is producing....is it the "ICON" that they call their bolt action?
