Smith and Wesson sight picture question

686 no dash 4 inch revolver, is it normal to see some of the stainless serrated ramp when you look at the sight picture? This gun has an aftermarket rear blade that looks stock but has night sights in it. I’m going to replace it but just curious do you only see the front insert typically or some serrations on the ramp too? Maybe this notch is too deep/blade too tall? Hard to photograph but take a look

No, that looks right to me.

If it bugs you, you can put some fingernail polish on it and cover more of the front sight.

Anymore, I paint over the inserts anyway, as I like things brighter.

Yes, that's the proper sight picture - and also why I don't especially like plastic inserts in sights.

<pedantic> Your focus, of course, should be on the front sight, with the rear sight blurred if necessary. </pedantic>

Thanks Jonesy I got really lucky and won them for 50.00! Spent another 25.00 on some dark Tung oil and then just refinished them. Very pleased how they turned out. Super smooth and a natural/satin feel to them
