Smith and Wesson sight picture question

22DA236D-5CFD-483D-885B-403CC33C1E81.png 686 no dash 4 inch revolver, is it normal to see some of the stainless serrated ramp when you look at the sight picture? This gun has an aftermarket rear blade that looks stock but has night sights in it. I’m going to replace it but just curious do you only see the front insert typically or some serrations on the ramp too? Maybe this notch is too deep/blade too tall? Hard to photograph but take a look

Yes, that's the proper sight picture - and also why I don't especially like plastic inserts in sights.

<pedantic> Your focus, of course, should be on the front sight, with the rear sight blurred if necessary. </pedantic>
