A store down here has 9mm and .40 M&P's on sale for $400 and compact versions of both for $460. Plus tax, of course. Is this a decent deal? The store is Fin Feather Fur Outfitters in Ashland, in case anyone wants to know.

The full version alright, though you may want to go for night sights at roughly $100 more.

The compact version should cost the same as the full version.

Yeah, that $60 difference seems like a lot more for less gun heh. Working in a manufacturing field has made me such a tightwad because I see how cheap it is to make something and then I see what we sell it for. People pay the prices, though, which pays my salary, so I won't complain.:D

I recently bought a compact 9mm for $440 at Buckeye Outdoors in Newark. They still had a .40 left at that price also.

FWIW, that doesn't sound bad. I'm south of you by a few states, I had beein looking at the M&P and the Glock 19, it seemed like the M&P was supposed to be a little less expensive w/ std sites, but w/ the night sights, they got closer in price...

At some of the stores here, they were trying to see the M&P for mid $5XXs, and the cheaper SVE for $4XX+, but I see online dealers (like budsgunshop.com) selling it for $400 + Shipping + FFL, but I still see other stores online selling it for $480ish...

As for the price difference, the ones selling it for $480ish have a similar price, whether std or compact, but I noticed buds had a $47 premium on the compact, so maybe fresh shipments from certain suppliers are coming w/ a lower price on the std model? I'm just guessing, only beein looking at these for a few weeks, and ended up leaning towards the glock, only because it was hard to argue w/ the way the rounds hit the paper for me, despite the M&P feeling better in my hand.

So, IMO, if they're offering you $400 out of the gate, that's not bad, you could do worse, but again, I'm not expert. As for the night sights, I don't know how much more that should be w/ purchase, or added later, I did notice the few online sources I went to just now did have $500+ prices for NS on that gun, not sure if Bud's had night sight options or not.

Good luck whatever you do!

At the Cabela's where I got mine, the sticker price was $499, but at the time (Dec. 2006) they happened to be running a promotion with a discount for using the Cabela's Club Visa, so I got $100 off that.

Ukraine, you drove from Cleveland to Ashland for a sale?!!? I applaud your tenacity. I could live at Fin if their prices on everything except guns were a bit more reasonable. They're still paying off the building, I guess. I got my M&P 40 in december on that sale. I think it's a reasonable price, and there aren't many guys that are picking them up for less. Smith is offering a mail in for a free $40 range bag also.

All you need is a copy of the dated recipt (I called, and that's what the guy at S&W said) and the printed form.

I got my M&P with the standard sights. I'll probably go with night-sights when i get the cash. I'd say go for it.

Well, I technically live in Medina. Brunswick after I move tomorrow. Either way it's not TOO far to Ashland, but I was on my way to a buddy's house west of Mansfield so it was on the way.

Got mine for $449.00 at Midwest Gun Exchange, in Mishawaka, IN.
They have the best prices that I can find on new guns in my area.

There is a price difference

From the factory on the compact and full size models. We (BUDS) have been selling them for around 400.00 for a while so I know 400$ is a great price. Hey revolverman Midwest is a great store Brad is a cool guy. We have done alot of buisness together.

The one my gun store had was $525 for the compact 9. I did not notice whether it had night sights or not.

Just ordered a new MP 9 full size from Bud's for $399. Wasn't even really thinking about one till I saw the price. Figured those prices wouldn't last long. My dealer wondered how they could sell for so low, they couldn't touch the price. Should get it on Monday.

I picked my full sized M&P40 "Shooter's Pack" - (fiirearm plus 3 magazines, holster & double mag carrier) for $450.00 and my compact M&P40c for $425.00. Although I have seen the local "One Cop Stop Shop" & Authorized S&W Dealer trying to sell their M&P9 for $725.00:what: - swbinak
