39/59, ?39/?59 are about the same as the 39??/59/69??
1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation frames are about the same. There was a thinner grip panel aftermarket panels for the 2nd generation pistols and the 3rd. The frame has to be large enough to accommodate the double stack magazine.

My Hi-Power is double stack and fits my hand like a glove. Well, maybe the thinner grips for the latter gens of the 59/69 would be sufficient. To tell the truth, although my 59 grip was too big for fast reloading and re-aquisition, it was just a quarter inch past where I might have actually kept it. I actually like a snug grip...but once you have to move your hand to operate the mag release, thats where you draw the line.

I still have a NIB Browning Hi-Power. Beautiful gun, but a lousy trigger, mag drop safety, finicky with different brands of ammo. But I will keep it!
