Excellent photo's DHart, and the guns look to be in perfect condition. You have nice backgrounds and have lit the guns to perfection, it looks professional. Did you use off camera bounce lightingor ambient? That is studio quality stuff and I know of what I speak. Thanks for sharing.....

DHart-

You take splendid photos, and I want to steal them to put in my handgun books (to augment the photos taken by the authors) , but you use such dark backgrounds that the grips often don't show up well.

Can you do something about that, and still get the (usually) stainless finish of the guns in good contrast?

Is it okay to print your pix for wholly private use?

Thanx,

Lone Star

LoneStar... I am a professional photographer and have earned my living with a camera for more decades than I care to admit to! But it's ok if you want to print them for your personal use. I do ask that credit be given to DHart-Legend Fine Portraits whenever my pics are used on the internet.

Pythonguy... I used floor and desk lamps for lighting. But I have used studio lighting for many years as well, so I know a lot of tricks and techniques and I know Photoshop fairly well also. It isn't any one thing that makes images great, it's the combination of a lot of detailed things all done well that adds up to a great image.

armedcitizen... how do you like the grips on your TR? Are those the stock grips that came with the gun? Do you know who makes them? They look great.

DHart,

Yes, those are the stock grips on the 21-4. According to the American Handgunner write up, they are Ahrends grips. I like them--they fit my hand great but some purists are upset that the gun isn't square butted.

armed citizen... I much prefer the round butt to the square butt, myself! There are grips to give the square butt feel to a round butt, but not vice versa.

Here's a few pictures of my two nicest S&W revolvers:

Here's a pic of my 1935 vintage 6.5" Registered Magnum. This one barely has a turn line.

And here's a couple pics of my 1937 6" Registered Magnum with Roper stocks.

You can use Adobe Photoshop Elements to adjust digital photos to your liking. This took about 3 seconds.

Hey Sabre... on your M28 and M29 shown above, are those both Spegel grips... they look great. The checkered one looks like it has a little rounding to the bottom rear of the grip... but it's still a square butt frame, right? I'd like to get a pair of grips just like each of those that you show, but I don't know what they're called... thanks.

Just a few...

DHart, whose front sight is on your 696?

Because it doesn't look anything like the one on my 696. Did you have it custom made?

Gewehr... the front sight is replaceable on these models and someone before me put a Patridge sight in there. Some people prefer Patridge; me, I prefer red ramps. But I take what I can get. ;)
