Hi All,

New member and I have a question about two K-22's that live in my safe.

One is stamped model 48-4 and is marked .22 MRF pinned 4 inch bbl and serial number is 92K2097

Second one is a K-22 , pinned 4 inch BBl, Serial numer is 293874.

I will try to attach a picture - the model 48-4 is the top one...

If someone could provide dates of manafacture and appx street value. I have promished these to my kids (ages 9 and 13) but would liek more information for insurance reasons

Fast Swift, sorry to be delinquent in getting back to you. Hope you make a lot more posts here, great group.

Great revolvers you have there. The top one is a .22 Magnum Rimfire; looks like it was born in 1981. The bottom appears to be a model 18 Combat Masterpiece, hatched in 1957. That was the first year that Smith & Wesson started number naming. There should be a "K" prefix in your serial number. Both should be great shooters, pull them outta your safe, shoot them and have fun. -Phil

Fast Swift, Prices are tough, they vary in different regions of the US. In the West they go for $450 to $550, depending on condition. Do you have original box, tools and paperwork etc. That will add to the price.

Your boys are lucky, these will make great family heirlooms from dad.
