smith & wesson ... walther question for yall

i have a smith and wesson 990l that is chambered in 40cal. i know that the firearm is a "copy" of the walther p99. my question is, i am having a hardtime finding a good iwb holster for the smith and was curious to know if a holster from a p99 will work? btw its a 3.5 barrel length

Check holsters.com, they are Safariland's official site. You can search by your model number and see what comes up. If all models include the Walther it should indicate that they and other holsters should be interchangeable.

The main problem in finding a holster that will fit both is that the profile of the slides are different.

Many holster makers list the pistols available on their site. High Noon does a nice job giving a list for each specific holster.

The Down Under, for instance, lists the S&W 99 in all calibers, though they don't list 990. I'm not sure much changed when S&W did a number change.
