I bought a Sigma 9VE in May and sent to coupon in for 2 mags. Here it is almost 6 months later and still no mags. I called 2 weeks ago and they said 7-10 days and I should have them. I'm giving them until the end of the week and if no mags no more Sigma and I'll never buy another Smith as I see it their customer service sucks. I am so tried of the run around that the pistol isn't worth it anymore. Has anybody that fell for this bulls$#t recieved their mags and what would you do if this happened to you?

I got my mags on time.

The general consensus is that their CS is very good.

Instead of condemning Smith and Wesson, why not look around and see who else is offering 2 mags for free? On a 280 dollar gun no less...

i wouldnt go so far as to hawk the gun over that.
i understand that its a pita,
last summer i bought a sig 229 with a 100 dollar rebate twards sig tac gear but when i called to claim the rebate they seemed to be cleaning out old stock from their warehouse as they didnt have my size in anything so i settled for some t shirts ad a hat. when i got the package they had substituted 2 shirts cause they were out of the ones i settled for. but i didnt buy the gun for the shirts they were just a nice bonus.

No Complaints Here

I bought a basic, 5" stainless S&W 1911 [product code #108282] during a
S&W promotion, that called for a all leather DeSantis holster as well as
a leather mag pouch with the purchase of any 1911. Completed the
coupon, and had my accessories within 14 working days~! :scrutiny: ;)

FWIW, turned out to be a $90 value.

McCain-Palin On Nov. 4th~!

I'm old enough to remember when there were no rebates on S&W's.......thats because they sold themselves. They made sales by offering a quality product, with features that were desireable. Ah the good old days ;)

It took me over three months to get my M&P .40 mags that were promised in the spring rebate in 6-8 weeks. Email their customer service, and do it multiple times. Explain to them the reasons why you bought a S&W product, and the reason you may never buy another one. That's what I did, and my mags came within two weeks afterward.

The general consensus is that S&W's service is very good. As a matter of fact, I just called them to ask how to obtain three of the curved (finger rest) mag buttplates for my M&P compact mags, and they sent me three of them at absolutely no cost to me, just for asking. I had them in about a week. A friend of mine had an older Airweight that wasn't rated for +p ammo. He had been shooting +p stuff in it and it developed a crack in the frame. He sent it to S&W, and they replaced it with a brand new Airweight! They even paid for the shipping both ways. It is often true that the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up yet, and good luck!

Well, I called them again today and found out that I'm number 6,000+ out of 14,000 + people on the list. At least this time I wasn't given any time line on when I would be recieving my mags. I just hope to get them before any ban can be put into place. I will be calling every week from now until I recieve them. I still won't buy anymore Smith & Wesson products as this experince has left a bad taste. I was told that they was backordered because of the responce to the rebate and in my opinion I feel that they should have been more prepared for this event.

smith products are excellent...if youre going to stop buying because you havent received free magazines that you will eventually receive thats fine, but you will certainly be missing out on some of the industry's finest products made in the usa by some excellent people. this may just be my experience, but check out something from the performance center, an m&p, or their vast line of revolvers (which i think are superior to any in the industry, except for old pythons maybe) and you will be completely tickled with its performance. on top of that, i've only heard maybe one other CS complaint, and LOADS of CS praise...it was more than enough for me to buy their product. i would say that it is likely that their rebate programs take a backseat to other CS affairs like warranty work etc. which are where they really earn their reputation for some of the best CS in the industry.

It took awhile to get them, when I called the message said that mags were on back order and they were shipping them out as fast as they could. They came the next day coincidentally. I believe they were a month or two late, but I go them. They have had this promo going for a long time, I'm sure the demand for rebate mags is huge. I wouldn't panic just yet if I were you.

On a side note, I got my rebate check first, on time. This seems to support their claim that mags are on serious backorder.

Got my M&P free mags within 3 weeks at the beginning of the year.

Smith will get them to you, it just may take time.

Got my M&P mags within 4 weeks. Maybe they are behind with SIGMA mags?

I finally recieved my mags yesterday for which I am greatful. The thing I hated the most was the lies. If they had told me right up front of where I was on the list and then said that they didn't know when I would recieve them but that they was shipping them as fast as they was getting them in then I wouldn't feel this way. I have a thing about being told something will happen at by a certain date and then not happen a couple of times that I probably won't do business with that company again. Why lie about it? If you don't know then just say that.

S&W has bloated inventories and a serious cash flow problem. Quality is still high but it looks like their line of rifles and shotguns really hurt them. They are stuggling to service debt and it looks grim. It would not suprise me if they got snapped up by someone.
