Does anyone know: Did Axtell warrant use of smokeless powder in their .45-70 1877 Sharps rifles? I know the company has been sold to Shiloh Sharps but am wondering about the Axtell rifles before the sale. And, yes, I realize they are much more accurate with BP loads.
Thanks in advance for responding. Much Obliged!

yuck, hmmm theres a powder out there that has very low pressure i think its trailboss, you can load it 75% case full and it will do really light loads. someone should step in, try posting this in handloading you should get better responses.

Thanks for the reply.I actually am not looking for smokeless loads. I see an Axtell on one of the auction sites. I know Shiloh warrants their rifles for smokeless factory loads in .45-70 and just was wondering if Axtell did the same, before I bid.
Thanks.
