Smooth bore barrel for a Hawken rifle?

I've been wanting a slick bore "rifle" for a while now, something with sights and a good fit on a .530 or larger ball with the proper patch. My Hawken rifle is one of the italian made rifles from Cabela's. Does anyone make a smooth bore barrel for these?

Check with Green Mountain Barrels, I seem to recall that they had them but you may have to come up with your own breech plug.

I thought a "smooth bore rifle" is normally called a musket.

Advertise for a shot-out .50 barrel and have it bored.

You can even have two Hawkens, I know they are built really nicely and feels nice too. Have your regular rifled Hawken for hunting and range work, and have your smoothbore, shot loaded Hawken for quail or gobblers.

Muskets and shotguns are not considered smooth rifles.

A smooth rifle is a rifle styled firearm that was originally built with a smooth barrel. Probably the majority of what became known as the Pennsylvania or Kentucky long rifle were smooth bored. Or at least it seems that way after reading Kindig, Shumway, Johnson et al.

But in response to the original poster, I am not aware of anyone making a smooth barrel for that particular model of longarm.

I am sure someone could bore it out if you really want it done.

Here is a 54cal barrell for sale. If it is the right one then get it rebored to 56cal smooth bore.

Green Mountain makes a .62 (20ga) smoothie for the T/C Renegade and 1" flat Hawken. I have read of some people modifying these drop in bbls for the CVA products if the barrel flats are 1".
You could buy a used T/C Renegade or .54 Hawken and buy the drop in .62 bbl.
The smoothie rifle, with its thick octagon shaped bbl, takes heavier powder and shot loads than shot guns and muskets. You can jug choke it to make a fine turkey gun.
Also the smooth bbl takes hardened lead balls better than the rifled bores. This helps if you want to shoot a large animal with roundballs.
They are very accurate with the rifled sights out to 75yds or so.
