Smooth grip fix for P99??

I posted this over on the Walther forums, but this board is much more active and it really pertains to any polymer handgun so here goes.
I love the way the grip feels in my hand, size is perfect, but a little too slick. I was thinking about taking it down to the place that does the rhino liner sprayed in truck bed linings and seeing what he'd charge me to put a thin coat on my grip. This shouldn't change the shape to it at all, but would add a rubbery grip that would slip less. What do you guys think??
The only drawback would be it's pretty permanent. Would this void any warranties??

solution I use

On my Steyr M9 and Springfeild XD, the grips are the same as you mention, nicely formed yet slick after perspiring or cleaning.

A really cheap, non-permanent and fantastic solutions was to place a strip of skateboard tape along the backstrap area and fringer groove if needed. Ask you local teen where to get some.

I put some on 6 months ago and have not had to change it at all.
It peels off when you want to change it and the residue can be lifted with a little goof-off.

I had used a small piece of bicycle tire inner tube as a slip on grip. It's thin, no finger grooves or swells to worry about, easy to put on & take off, inexpensive, you can custom cut the piece to your requrements and works pretty well too

hogue slip on grips work well from waht i heard

3M stair tread from homedepot. costs $1 for about 1 ft. cut it to size.

i put one line up the backstrap and three small pieces in between the finger grooves.

makes all the difference in the world.
