I'm a little peeved about the way that people try and control firearms. A while back, I was reading an article about how deadly the .22 was. It stated that many murders were commited with ILLIGALY MANUFACTURED "Saturday Night Specials" in .22 caliber. The article implicated that these guns are too easy to aquire. THE'RE ILLIGAL!!! The law is all ready prohibiting them, isn't it clear that gun laws only infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens, because are criminals don't follow laws! Is a bank robber going to see the no gun zone sign and turn around and rob the bank accross the street because they allow robbers to bring guns in? Is the gangster going to kill anymore people because he affixed a stock to his handgun? How much more dangerous is a rifle with a 10" barrel (lower velocity) than a rifle with a 20" barrel (higher velocity), and don't tell me that you can conceal a 10" AR-15, even with an illegal folding buttstock. When did gun owners start being treated guilty until proven innocent? Why do we have to defend a right that is clearly (for a reason) stated in our founding documents! I think in a world where the first admendment is interpeted in so many ways that it can excuse public nudity and flag burning, we should be able to use the second admendment literally. I know this frustration has been posted a thousand times, but I figured that it was my turn. Rant Complete.
