I'm a little peeved about the way that people try and control firearms. A while back, I was reading an article about how deadly the .22 was. It stated that many murders were commited with ILLIGALY MANUFACTURED "Saturday Night Specials" in .22 caliber. The article implicated that these guns are too easy to aquire. THE'RE ILLIGAL!!! The law is all ready prohibiting them, isn't it clear that gun laws only infringe on the rights of law-abiding citizens, because are criminals don't follow laws! Is a bank robber going to see the no gun zone sign and turn around and rob the bank accross the street because they allow robbers to bring guns in? Is the gangster going to kill anymore people because he affixed a stock to his handgun? How much more dangerous is a rifle with a 10" barrel (lower velocity) than a rifle with a 20" barrel (higher velocity), and don't tell me that you can conceal a 10" AR-15, even with an illegal folding buttstock. When did gun owners start being treated guilty until proven innocent? Why do we have to defend a right that is clearly (for a reason) stated in our founding documents! I think in a world where the first admendment is interpeted in so many ways that it can excuse public nudity and flag burning, we should be able to use the second admendment literally. I know this frustration has been posted a thousand times, but I figured that it was my turn. Rant Complete.

Given that anti-gunners read this forum for quotes to use against us, I'd say this is a bad choice for title. Doesn't exactly make gunowners sound stable.

Cheap .22 pistols are illegal? Since when?

I might have misunderstood your post though. Spelling, no paragraph breaks, etc. Not being snarky, honestly saying that I had trouble following your post.

Agree. Spell check and paragraphs help. If you want to change peoples minds about guns make sure that they can understand you clearly.

Anyways I agree with the main points you are trying to make.

I agree, we have laws against making zip guns. Another law will make no difference.
We need to put our time and money where our problem really is, in the prisons, and the courtrooms.

I think I understood all of what you said.

Sometimes it can be difficult to type when you're angry. Cut the guy some slack. We all feel the same way about gun laws and it is only going to get worse.

See my post in the thread about the video to send to the antis.
I am starting to take a different tack on this whole thing.
People are beginning to get more and more of their information off the internet. Let's all start taking a little time to visit, and yes...gulp...join some of the anti forums and blogs ( I did on the Brady blog)
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=128694495&MyToken=6bd89198-49d4-47e7-8138-ec398f4e6729ML

I am approaching them with a friendly, honest attitude to help "educate" them. A lot of people are, in my mind just plain ignorant of the facts. It is our DUTY to educate them with the truth.

Oh..and the politicians....I'm afraid they are a lost cause. We've got to go to the grass roots.

rickomatic, I checked out that blog. Registering and commenting there is a great Idea and I've looked at the past couple of posts by the Bradys and it seems that they are getting a lot of pro-gun people challenging their nra-hating anti-gun BS.

I also noticed that the Brady people almost NEVER have anything intellegent to say in rebuttle when they get 19 comments slamming their attempt to lie about the NRA.

Keep up the good work, we should make this a thread by itself so that people could find a new outlet for their activism.

Rickomatic -- that is awesome. It's basically the spirit of THR.

I've been out there myself...It's painful looking into the abyss.

Be sure to come back here for some fortitude once in a while.

I think posting on the Anti-gun forums is an excellent idea. The choir doesn't need our message but the opposition does. Can we feel free to discuss this opportunity with the other forums, like Perfect Union or AR15.com. There are a lot more forums for us than them. Maybe we can get them to see the light of the entire Bill of Rights. Permission granted?

the myspace blog is a fake

myspace is for meeting girls and keeping up with nephews and nieces, no serious political debate there.
OP
get a spell check and use it....please....no one over 40 can take a post like that seriously.
