So if you were to make an educated guess, what do you think the most......

Educated guess? Educated guess? This is the internet. The internet is not for educated guesses. It is only for wild speculation and uninformed rambling.

I'm going with .41 Magnum and .17 Bee.

In South Africa, I'd say 308 and prolly 223. In handguns, 9mmP, 9mmK and 38 Special. Take away the police and mil (who use 9mmP), and I'm not too sure but I think 9mmK will outweigh 38 special. Lotsa cheap 9mmK "Luger" pistols sold in the past 10 years.

But in rifles, 308. Everyone ('cept me) has one.

Shotguns, 12 gauge, no question there.

.38 Especiale and 30-06.

What I believe is particularly interesting is that I don't see any way of determining who's right. Ammo sales wouldn't do it as I could see the legions of greased up model '94s in coat closets existing but not impacting ammo sales.

I'd still bet on 30-06 for no better reason than that I can. Maybe those piles of 1903s in 30-06 will balance the fleet of dusty lever guns. Gotta be a metric pantload of 30-06s preceeding GCA '68 (?).
