Show was pretty popular in Canada and Britain, I understand. But the point is that there are still armed Brits, it's just that they're being ratted out by anonymous snitches (or that's a convenient way to fill out an otherwise incomplete warrant).
So yea, some Brits have backbone. However they are being prosecuted for it, and if everything goes according to plan they should have those 'undesirables' weeded out before too long.
"Ex-Corrie star bailed in firearms probe

A former Coronation Street star has been bailed by police after he was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.
Nigel Pivaro, 46, who played bad boy Terry Duckworth in the ITV1 soap, was not present when police raided his home in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Friday.
The officers, who were acting on a tip-off, allegedly recovered a gun and ammunition from two flats in Ordsall.
A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said: “A 46-year-old man from Salford has been arrested after GMP officers executed warrants at two addresses in Nineacre Court, Ordsall on November 3.
“The man attended a police station on November 6 and was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm.
“He was bailed until January 2007 pending further enquiries.”
The father-of-two first appeared in Coronation Street in 1983, as the wayward son of Jack and Vera Duckworth.
In 2003 he obtained a history degree from Salford University and this year he was awarded a Master’s degree in terrorism and international relations from the University of Wales.
He has quit acting to pursue a career in journalism."
