Stopped by the LGS just to observe the frenzy. Hadn't been in there in a few weeks. About a month or so ago, on a whim, I picked up a Heritage Rough Rider there (which I love.) Several months before that, I had picked up a secondhand Taurus PT-22 (circa 1998), which I also am impressed with.
Today, it was a Interarms-imported FEG "Mark-II" (dubbed as the "AP22". It was sitting in an almost-invisible spot below and behind several other bigger handguns.
I have a thing for solid-steel guns, and haven't bought one since the early 1990s. This thing is truly heavy, but dressed well in a deep, like-new blued finish. Double-action trigger mimics the construction in that it is heavy (and somewhat gritty; we'll see if that smoothes out with use.)
From what I find on the 'net, this thing should function well, particularly with the "high-velocity" ammunition recommended per the lettering on the one magazine, which holds eight rounds, and is equipped with the fingertip extension.
Takedown, form, and function emulate those of the Walther PPK-series, though the differences in fit and finish would be clear to anyone who owns both (I owned a PPK/S, also by Interarms, many years back.) Like the Walther, there is no slide-lock feature. Unlike the Walther, the lettering on the slide and frame is dot-marked, and not roll-marked.
I'm looking forward to trying this out. It feels good in the hand, though the rear of the slide comes as close to the hand as the one on my PPK/S did. Will have to watch for that; never got "slide-bit" before, but it's close, not at all like on my Bersa Thunder 380.
