So the new Commandment - (for me) Thou Shall NOT Sell or Trade My 4" 66-1!

Look, the REAL commandment is "don't sell your pre-lock" S&W.

They don't make them anymore, and it's what we all want. Supply and demand kinda thing! (should I be saying this in public? - oops).

I mean, SELL THEM. That's what I meant!

For years I've tried to beat into people the one rule they should live by. Never, ever, ever, ever, sell or trade a gun you have even a modicum of affection for or it will become a bitter part of your life that will far exceed any momentary monetary gains. Just DON'T do it.

Money comes and then it's gone. But a gun only goes up in price. I regret selling every gun I ever sold in a moment of weakness. That trip to Cancun is now a hazy memory and all I have to show of it are some fading photos.

In today's world, many of the top tier guns are fully functional, but they're ugly. Smith & Wesson will never put out the guns it once did. It's glory days are behind it. You still get a good, solid product, but where're the cosmetics? Where are the chromed triggers and hammers? Where is the beauty, the rich lustrous bluing of the past? My first Ruger Standard Auto cost me $92 and going to a gun store was like going to a museum. Replacing guns that were sold or traded is almost impossible now. So the best bet is not to let those guns go in a moment of weakness.

Gunkwazy is my hero

I love that picture by Gunkwazy of the 5 model 66 snubbies.

I am just a beginner and only have two.

S&W First Commandment

Brother forgive me, for I myself have done wrong in 1992, the devil made me sell my NIB Never Fired Colt Detective Special. Since then I cannot even look at one, and continue to have my daily nightmares. That is my suffering for breaking the commandment. Never shall I sin again.

To sell a Model 66 is an egregious sin, and it is difficult to offer absolvement. But to sell a 66 in order to buy a Glock, well, that's grounds for excommunication.

Is this what you sold.

Funny, I did just the opposite. Sometimes I miss my Glock 23, but I would always miss this 66-1.

Hey, 20nickels - Help one another out, you trade him that ugly unreliable 66, and he gives you that wonderful looking Glock, both of you will be happy.
