Years ago....probably more than 12-15 years ago.....I saw article/plans for building a portable tho really solid and heavy shooting rest.
Not positive, but I think this article appeared in one of the "thick" annual publications.......like Gun Digest, Shooters Bible, Guns Illustrated......one of those types.
This was the type rest with a tabletop shooting surface, and an attached seat.
This article stressed rigidity and "solidness". It was built mainly with 2X6's and 4X4 lumber....thick heavy bolts and nuts, etc.
The final touch for solidness was that it was designed, from the ground up....so that the user would actually drive one wheel of an auto or pickup UP and onto a part of the lower structure of it, to further anchor and solidify this beast.
Over the ensuing years, I've often thought of that device...... Now for the life of me, I cannot find the publication that it was in.
