Prince's 'When doves fry'

"This is what it sounds like
When doves fry
Touch if u will my stomach
Feel how it trembles inside"

I just love that sizzle sound. And boy does my tummy tremble when that first forkfull of dove meat is heading for my mouth.

Cheryl Crow's 'Soak up the Sun'

"I'm gonna soak up the sun
Got my 45 on
So I can rock on"

Nothing rocks like a 45.

Metallica Stone Cold Crazy lyrics

Sleeping very soundly on a Saturday morning,
I was dreaming I was Al Capone.
Rumours going round, gotta clear out of town,
Smell like a dry fishbone.
Here come the law, gonna break down the door,
Carry me away once more.
Never, never, never want it anymore,
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor.
Crazy, stone cold crazy, you know.

Rainy afternoon, ought to kill a typhoon,
And she's playing on my slide trombone.
Anymore, anymore, cannot take it anymore,
Gotta get away from this stone cold floor.
Crazy, stone cold crazy, you know.

Walking down the street, shooting people that I meet,
Fully loaded Tommy gun.
Here come the deputy, try ????ing getting me,
Gotta ????ing get up and run.
They got the sirens loose, I ran right out of juice.
They're gonna put me in a cell,
If I can't go to heaven, let me go to hell.
Crazy, stone cold crazy, you know, yeah.

 How about two Warren Zevon songs...
Lawyers, Guns and Money
and
Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner

He may have died but his music lives on!!!!
And my FAVORITE gun and gunfighter song of all times...
Gringo Pistelero written by Allen Damron and Tim Henderson.

What ever Cheryl Crow was talking about, it's not a .45 automatic. She is an anti!
Well, like most antis, if it works to her advantage....

Afterall, that was the debut single of her current CD.

From Queens "Another One Bites The Dust":

Steve walks warily down the street,
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet.
Brim pulled way down low,
Machineguns ready to go.

Miss Crow was talking about a 45RPM record I believe. I thought she meant .45 auto at first too. :)

"Got my 45 on so I can rock on."

My guess is it's a reference to SPF 45 sun block... she is singing about "soaking up the sun" and all. When I first heard it I was thinking .45 ACP myself.

Steve Earle-The Devil's Right Hand.

About the time that Daddy left to fight the big war
I saw my first pistol in the general store
In the general store, when I was thirteen
Thought it was the finest thing I ever had seen
So l asked if I could have one someday when I grew up
Mama dropped a dozen eggs, she really blew up
She really blew up and I didn't understand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

The devil's right hand, the devil's right hand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

My very first pistol was a cap and ball Colt
Shoot as fast as lightnin' but it loads a mite slow
Loads a mite slow and soon I found out
It can get you into trouble but it can't get you out
So then I went and bought myself a Colt 45
Called a peacemaker but I never knew why
Never knew why, I didn't understand
Cause Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

Well I get into a card game in a company town
Caught a miner cheating I shot the dog down
Shot the dog down, watched the man fall
Never touched his holster, never had a chance to draw
The trial was in the morning and they drug me out of bed
Asked me how I pleaded, not guilty I said
Not guilty I said, you've got the wrong man
Nothing touched the trigger but the devil's right hand

I don't care for Steve Earle's politics, but the SOB knows how to write music.
