Here are some pictures of my new toy! A BRILEY Modified(First year, 1989)S&W Model 5906. The modifications include a stainless, Briley barrel and spherical barrel bushing. Let me have your opinion's-as this is my FIRST autoloader-EVER?:
Slick 6: Nice lookin 9; especially dressed up with the Hogues. Briley is famous for making very accurate weapons, will be waiting for a range report with fotos. By the way nice composition and resolution on these photos.
1)Other than being adjustable, I'm not sure what type of sights are on my 5906-but, I believe that the(Front)for sure, is another custom touch by Briley(Maybe, the rear also?). I sure like them though!
2)It's possible, that the flat top slide, might have also been a custom piece from Briley?
I'm wondering if anyone else has some pictures of their 5906?
I just picked up one from a place in Arizone that stocks Police trade-ins.
Paid $279.95. I cannot believe how good of shape this handgun is in. Practically brand new. I am so please with what I received. That was my first "Used handgun" purchase and I cannot wait for the waiting period to end so I can go pick it up.
Momoshooter - did you get your 5906 from J&G Sales, or a different outfit? I ask because I've been on the lookout for a 5906 in Very Good to Excellent condition, and $279.95 is better than I had seen @ J&G back in October '07.
The S&W 'metal' autos are IMO amongst the best out there. Highly underrated. Every one I owned had a great trigger and built like a tank. Not sure whey they aren't more popular. If it were mine, I'd lose the smooth wood grips. They look nice, but I prefer the old "straight backstrap" plastic factory grips. Good shooting.
